What Is Botox Used For In Northfield ?
Jawline Botox
Both weak and overly pronounced jawlines can be transformed with injectables. Filler can be used to add shape and definition to the face jawline. Jaw Botox can be used to relax the masseter (or chewing) muscle in order to reduce the jaw size.
Lip Flip
Where the Cupid’s bow is upturned using injectables, increasing the visible surface area of the lip. The natural shape of the lip is maintained, without over-volumizing. Cupid’s bow is the perfect injection for an elegant and feminine look. It’s great for the lips and cheeks, giving you a full and youthful complexion.
Eyebags
Circles under the eyes are treated for a fresher, more vibrant, more awake appearance. Eyebags—often caused by stress, genetics, and age—can appear as a frown line, giving you an older and more aged appearance that you may not like. Eyebags are now treated to help reduce excess skin and smooth the area for a natural, less fatigued appearance.
Crow's Feet
Used to relax and ‘freeze’ the muscles responsible for frowning under the outer corners of the eyes, and removes the fine wrinkle that appear on the face when we smile. Botox is a favorite among celebrities for smoothing out crow’s feet.
Frown & Forehead Lines
Anti-wrinkle injections are used to relax the muscles in the forehead and frown lines. It allows them and wrinkles to soften. This is also an excellent place for preventative Botox.
Gummy Smile
A gummy smile can be caused when the muscles around the mouth pull the lip too high up when we smile. Because we are able to relax these muscles, and prevent them from over pulling, less of the teeth and gums are revealed when we smile.
Browlift
Our brows can drop over time. With a Botox brow lift, we inject between the face brows, allowing the muscles underneath them to relax, and the forehead muscles to ‘pull’ the brows up to their original position.
What Does Botox Do?
BOTOX® is a toxin that prevents the muscles from contracting. If you inject it into a muscle, it will paralyze the muscle for several months. Without these signals, the muscles can’t contract and cause wrinkles.
The treated muscles gradually weaken and are replaced by new, smoother, tighter skin. That’s why it’s used as a cosmetic treatment for Botox Northfield. If you have wrinkles on your forehead, for example, injecting botox into your forehead relaxes the muscles that make the wrinkles.
The active ingredient in BOTOX® is botulinum toxin type A.
FDA-approved Botox can address the following skin problems:
- Crow’s feet (a line or crease that starts above the outer corner of the eye and extends toward the temple)
- Frown lines (a line or crease between your eyebrows)
- Bunny lines (lines on either side of your nose)
- Forehead furrows (wrinkles in your forehead)
- Hyperhidrosis (excessive, uncontrollable sweating) of the underarms, hands, or feet.
- Chronic migraine in adults (when headaches have not responded to at least 3 months of treatment with other medications)

How Botox Works
The first thing to understand is that the muscles move the skin, not vice versa. When you want to make a face, you activate certain muscles and deactivate others. Botox does the opposite — it relaxes the muscles so the skin can’t move.
Injected in small doses with a very fine needle, botox is administered in two to five tiny injections directly into the muscle. A single, small dose of Botox (botulinumtoxinA) is injected into four areas of the face: the forehead, glabella, crows’ feet, and smile lines. It may be injected into several other areas—these are referred to as “off-label” uses—if a doctor feels they will benefit a patient.
Each area requires a very small amount of the product.
What are the side effects of botox injections?
The most common side effects of botox injections include headache, blurry vision and temporary eyelid drooping. In some cases, there may also be an uneven smile or a temporary worsening of frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines).
For men & women in Northfield these side effects are usually mild and typically go away two or three days after your treatment. You may also experience temporary muscle weakness, headache and flu-like symptoms (fever, chills or nausea). These symptoms occur more often when you first start having treatments with botox.
They will ease as your body becomes accustomed to the product. Treatments with botulinum toxin usually take effect in a few days and last for 4-6 months. The length of time that each individual effect lasts will depend on the area being treated. For example, forehead wrinkles may last for up to four months, while eyelid drooping could be noticeable for only a couple of weeks.
Frequently Asked Questions
After you have had botox in Northfield, it is important to keep the treated area as motionless as possible. You should avoid excessive facial movement for 24 hours after treatment. If you are planning on going to an event in Northfield or somewhere near and you know there will be a lot of smiling, such as a wedding or a party, try to schedule it around several days after or before your treatment instead of the same day so you can enjoy yourself more.
Injecting Botox into the lower part of the face can cause asymmetry of the lips and cheeks. This is why Botox injections on the lower face should be done sparingly and cautiously by an experienced injector near Northfield.
The best solution to make it last longer is by massaging your face. Massaging stimulates muscles beneath your skin, which in turn stimulates blood circulation, which keeps your skin healthy and vibrant.
